Green business refers to any enterprise or economic activity that is environmentally responsible and sustainable. These businesses aim to reduce their ecological footprint while still being profitable and socially beneficial.
GOAL:
To create opportunity for young people and women in rural Kenya.
DURATION
November 2019 to April 2025
ACHIEVEMENT
Increased generation of employment opportunities for rural women and youth from green sector in both self and waged employment. Poor rural women and youth farmers benefit from sustainable increases in volume and value of production because of improved production, value addition and sales of high value niche market products
COVERAGE AREA:
Vihiga County (Hamisi, Sabatia, Emuhaya, Vihiga and Luanda South sub-counties)
OBJECTIVE
Green skills of women and youth are promoted and poverty and hunger reduced in rural areas of Vihiga County
TARGET:
650 farmers (300 women and 350 youth)
