Change often meets resistance, but God’s promises stay constant. This was one of the key reflections from today’s all-staff devotion, led by Rt. Rev. Rose Okeno, member of the ADS Western Board of Trustees.
Drawing from Joshua 3, Bishop Okeno guided us through a reflection on spiritual growth and the importance of personal and institutional transformation. She emphasized the role of the Spiritual Formation Committee in helping us nurture a culture of prayer, mutual support, and fellowship. Just as the Israelites crossed the Jordan in faith, we were reminded that transformation whether personal or organizational requires humility, obedience, and a deep trust in God’s direction.

A particularly timely message was Bishop Okeno’s call to pay closer attention to men’s mental health. She challenged us to look past the cultural expectation that men should always appear strong, noting that many suffer in silence. She encouraged us to use this month as a time of intentional reflection checking in on one another and fostering a more supportive workplace for everyone.
The devotion also included an update on the ADS Western Strategic Plan. Staff were introduced to the draft plan, with a focus on its purpose, guiding principles, and the process that has shaped its development so far. CEO Mr. Amusala took time to reaffirm the organization’s mission, vision, and long-term goals.

Presentations were shared under proposed six thematic areas:
Each team shared their five-year vision, reflecting ADS Western’s commitment to driving impactful, region-wide development across Bungoma, Busia, Vihiga, and Kakamega counties.
As we continue this journey, may we stay rooted in faith, supportive of one another, and aligned in our shared mission.
